Well my male Flameback is going to die.:cry::cry: He is laying on his side and very disorientated. I feel so bad for him. I really wish I knew the exactly what was wrong with him.

Water parameters, tank size and tankmates? What symptoms have you observed?

Parasites, infections, bloat??? Damn, that sucks to hear bro. Are you going to replace him?

My water is always great.

Ammonia 0
nitite 0
nitrate 10-20
Ph 8.2

He was in a 90 gallon that I run 3 filters on for 1400 GPH filtration along with a UV sterilizer.

For symptoms he started not being as active and wouldn't eat...This started 2 weeks ago. I then saw white stringy pooh. I moved to a hospital tank and started treating for internal parasites...I had a holding female flameback die a couple weeks back. I have not had these fish that long maybe 1-2 months.

It was either parasites or bloat, possibly both. If I can find one to replace him with yes...I have 5 females who are useless without a male.

I don't have fish die either that is why this is so perplexing.

We'll see...I am really gonna try to find another male. I may ask the LFS I bought them from if they can get anymore.

Good luck. Just ask your LFS. If they got the kyoga flamebacks in the 1st time, they can do it again.

He has died...It is just really frustrating not knowing the exact cause of this. I also really liked this fish.

I feel your pain, when I lost half of my Haplochromis Ruby Green colony, I was devastated. Imagine what Jhutch must've went through. I have fry growing out and I'm sure in a couple months they will be huge with all the water changes I am doing. If you want kyoga flamebacks, I don't know, but on aquabid, there's prontodelivery who has a trio. They might not be kyoga flamebacks, but they look like it to me. We're just not sure if they really are.
