Magic Place Of Wonders And Delights
Ok i am just going to get stright to point well oscar still alive but not eating HITH is healing up nicely going great yay well i was gonig yay untill i noticed something wrong with his tail great another problem <_< .
I think he might have fin rot not sure his tail is like normal shape but side of it looks like someone grated thier skin with the cheese grater and hes got this white mark on his side like a thumb print looks like a cut/scape i don't know.
I am thinking maybe the cheese grater looking cut and the scape on side might be conected with fin rot i can't tell what other fins look like since he sulking and does not move but i am thinking fin rot another fun problem i have to fix.
So how is this treated do i just have to go out and buy more melafix yet agian but then i think he might not live much longer because he won't eat or maybe this is why he not eating and now i can see somethings wrong maybe if i cure this he get back to normal so yea anyway is those 2 thing a sign of fin rot or what else.

Also for some reason he got his mouth slightly open not sure why also should i try and move him to check other fins or should i not since that will stress him out and hes not dead so that not why his mouth is open i think would be floating if he was and he does move his eyes and whip his tail at me anyway if i do have to movehim i think of some way to do so .

( i don't make allot of sense lately but i hope that does and my spelling got worse kind of)

Dont move him or anything. Keep the water clean and use antibiotics like Maracyn. It should help heal some of those wounds and maybe help the HITH. Dont use melafix, its actually better as a preventive, its not as good for healing infections like antibiotics.

Geez fast commets yea but i don't get it becasue HITH is doing good and healing but now theres this other thing so like what the hell HITH doing good but now i got this other stuff i don't know i kind of thinking that maybe if oscar does starve to death might be bettter for both of us because nothing seems to be working and just restart tank or give up because just getting annoying because i have done what you told me to do i do take out more water now when i do water changes at moment i change water about once or twice a week since he is not eating anything right now so there no mess so how can this fin rot come out of no where or was it jsut waiting to be activted? so what should i get some of this Maracyn go from there.

EDIT: idea behind restarting tank is because i have a job soon a good paying one then i can afford best there is equipment wise and this time buy small fish like africans or fire mouths becasue i have no luck think if i restart i have learned from my mistakes well i don't even now what i done wrong really because i change water often provide good diet maybe it is because filter to small i have no idea.

I'd say give the fish back to the pet store. Let them heal the fish properly before he winds up with a permanent disorder. And yes maybe Mbuna's are a better option for you, IMO they are more tolerant of water quality, O2 Levels, & disease.
However they will require a differant diet that includes veggetation.

I was trying hard to fix everything but i am doing something wrong and i would not want to drop this fish on someone considering his condition what i said before sure it would make me less stressed not worrying about oscar and trying to figure out whats wrong if worse came to worse but i can't do that i try more stuff and hope for best i guess.

Really only thing wrong with him now is the fin rot since i have healed HITH well most of it 85 % is closed but still needs to heal get colour back other 15% is still open but closing i will call LFS about that Maracyn stuff you mentioned.

Try to keep the water changes to every third day or so and only do like 20-25% changes. (unless instructed by medicines) Make sure you use a gravel syphon! It will remove some of the most crappy bio in the tank. Very important to do this. (Sorry if you already are) Even if you have a weak or small filter the water changes will do most anyway.

Make sure to treat him for the issues he is having as per instructions of the medicines or someone who knows what you're doing/needing!

In my experience the fin rot is easier to fix than the HITH is so you should have no probs tackling this!

Sounds like you're on the right track! Only other thing I could think of mentioning is food.... Don't offer to much cause it will only make water conditions worse. Especially if hes not eating much.

Keep us posted on this! Best of luck to you!!
