NTT dat with some kind of worm..

I recently bought 6 NTT datnoids at 3-3.5 inch. I noticed on one of the datnoid on the body, by the tail that there is something hanging out of it. Looks like a blood worm with its head inside the skin of the fish and the rest hanging out. Please let me know what you think it is and the cure. THANKS

Sounds like some type of parasitic creature,I would place the whole lot of them in quarantine and treat them with a good anti parasite medication.The others may be infected as well even though nothing is visible on them.

Thats right,Thinbars are really beautiful but they seem to be very susceptible to parasite infections,they dont seem to have the constitution of the other dats.

what parasite medications are safe for them? i know peacock bass and meds are a big no no from experience. thanks

o man that sucks. i hope the rest of them are okay. Coppersafe is the way to go! I've used it on ntt's with no problems.
