so last night i noticed my large NTT datnoid stable, which is something I have been waiting for after months. I also noticed my little datnoid inside the log the larger datnoid normally lives in and picking at the larger datnoid.

Anyway the datnoid ate yesterday and like a pig as normal and then after lights out i noticed him sort of drifting around, his bottom fins are nipped up. I put him inside a critter keaper with an air stone inside my display tank to be safe. He wasnt happy about it but I have big bichirs I didn't trust in that situation. it looks like he banged his nose up trying to get out all night. At times it looked like there was improvement when i checked on him.

This morning I let him out, and his small weird circle swimming has been replaced by swimming in larger circles. I can't see any type of mark on him. It seems like I just cannot keep datnoids and I felt good about these two.

The larger one is 5-6 inches and the smaller 5 ish. I'll post a video soon.

no nitrites and nitrates are around 15ppm. I have a UV sterilzer I am about to hook up, and I have black and green algae I have been letting go not sure if that matters.

I would like any reccomendations as to what to do, salt bath heat etc. help.

Interesting tank decor but sadly I can't offer any advice.Thinbar dats seem to have the weakest constitution of all of the dats.If your water seems optimal then it could be something that had already been festering within your fish.

its actually sparsly decorated, theres a big peice of drift wood in the middle.

anyway picked up some copper safe.

18watt UV is on, did a 20 min salt bath with 3 tablespoons to a gallon of water and added 4 oz of copper safe (enough to treat 84 gallons). now I am just hoping for the best.
