Greetings all, I recently got myself a nice NTT clean 3 bar to add to my tank, ordered around 3 inches but they sent me a 5-inch one so dunno what to say. Anyway I was wondering how their behavior is, currently the tank holds a delhezi bichir and flag tail proch that are both slightly larger than the NTT, will there be any issues with them getting along? also was wondering how to get better colors and darker bands on my NTT, I mixed info online so dunno what to trust. they're all in a 250g btw permanent.

In my experience, NTT colours get better as they grow and get more confident.

I keep NTT with flagtail without issue. Never kept bichir, but probably okay. Just make sure that the NTT has some driftwood or hiding place that he can merge into.

And post some pics!

i have a large piece of drift wood that both the flag and ntt hide under when i’m around, the flag is extremely shy and is shocked easily. currently the ntt occasionally tries to nip at the flagtails side and tail but other wise its ok, he has no issues with the bichir. the ntt also seems more dominant as on the first day he was in he instantly went after and ate a bamboo shrimp half his size. honestly was surprised he could take on such a large shrimp.

he sometimes nips at the flagtail but again, i don't know of its just some bumps that will workout as he is new, or if its a problem, I also have a small silver Arowana in there that he might eat. they're around same length but the Arowana is smaller and the NTT has been eyeing up the Arowana

I don't think you will have a problem with the dat and an aro. They usually go well together, and dats generally leave top dwellers alone.

But you never know.
