Hey guys I just upgraded to a 180 so I want some different dats. Don't like the look of AT and ST and NGT are too expensive. I wanna try a few NTT's but i've always been scared due to many people having them die at small sizes. I've seen 2" ones at my LFS and they're $30 so not cheap at all. Do you guys have any ideas on how to avoid this "sudden death syndrome?" Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Wow two inches!..I think the main problem with them is that they can carry a good bit of parasites in their gills when they are brought over so it would be good to quarantine them for a few weeks in a tank treated with a mild anti parasite medication.

That seems a little steep for a 2" NTT, we got em up north at like $35 for a 3.5"-4". But if you're like me, as long as you want it bad enough price isn't the issue.

I'm a little interested to hear this too, my NTTs are a little over 4" and looking good so far but I sometimes get to thinking about the possibility of SDS.

Thats actually what has been keeping me from getting one. I get an indo at that size for $12 and NTT for 30. Doesn't make much sense to me. What size did you get your NTT at?

You're 666th post, kick ass. I got mine at about 4" and 2.5", that 2.5"er being Gimpy my NoTailTiger

I never had a problem with my ntt's having sudden death syndrome.

Knock on wood...

i had 5 of them for a good 6 months. they were all happy and eating like crazy. then the death syndrome came. 1 die each week. every other fish was healthy in my tank. i tried to save them by putting them in another tank, but it didnt work.
