Hi does anyone know, can a female monoculus grow a nuchal hump. What I believed to be a big female has recently started bossing the other cichla around and has grown a nice nuchal hump. I'm guessing it must be male now.

ive had females before start to grow a small lump on there head but not a big red jobbies ive also had mis venting were i though a male was female then wellar hump and spawn from him lol
one of my pairs now are starting to pair off anf the boy is starting to grow a hump now put some pics up as this one is growing fast
Like the others said, females can get a slight bump, but if its a big red nuchal hump then its a male. Post some pics.
