My planted tank is over run with snails. One of the biggest problems was a piece of driftwood covered in Java moss, probably had 100 snails in the moss. I removed the driftwood and replaced it with an extra piece I had laying around so now I can go after snails with a siphon during wc and they can't hide in the moss. Anyway, my question is for the removed piece. How long should I wait before using the driftwood from the infested tank to ensure any eggs are dead?

Soak the removed piece in a vinegar and water solution, Or, pour boiling water over it, goodbye moss.
You could let it sit and dry out but then you will have to soak it anyway to get it waterlogged again.
You could even soak it in a 1:5 bleach/water solution. After it is soaked just a few hours, rinse and soak in water with dechlor or somthing like Prime, goodbye moss.
How about a salt bath?
http://www.aquariumplants.com/Articles.asp?ID=111 There is an article here on treating for snails on plants....try it.

thanks, I'll probably go the boiling water route
