Hi i got a 4 x 1 x 1.5 and want to have 2 discus in the tank and was wondering the number of fish i can keep with them?

2 discus is a bad number to start with, unless you have a pair set of adults. What you can keep with them will depend on what type of discus you will be working with.

why is 2 a bad number?

because discus prefer to be in groups and any aggression will be shared amongst the group if any of them don't get along - discus can be grumpy!

Most people say six.

Personally I wouldn't start lower than 4, but 6 is better. These guys definitely go by the rule, the more the merrier.

ok so say i have 4 discus i am looking at either Leopard or snakeskins.
who many tertras could i put with them?

With a tank your size, I'd recommend against getting any tetras/dithers with the discus, and just stick to the discus.
