After searching the uk for a supplier of mazuri shark and ray gel for ages i had given up. However when i was at my local blue reef public aquarium
where the were picking my brains over freshwater fish feeding. They said they had this new product which their starving motoro pounced on. It was a product called Nutrazu omnivore gel made here in the uk. it comes in powder form which you mix yourself and sets to a gel. you then cut this into thin strips which you can freeze and use at will. It defrosts really quickly, in just minutes.
The first batch i made as pre instructions 50/50 water powder, this time all the rays mouthed it but didnt chew or eat. The next batch i made with some blended earthworms added to the water and mixed it 55/45 water powder to achieve a slightly less firm gel. dropped it in my two tanks and my big Leo took it straight away and so did my little pearl/marble hybrid. Two down Two to go!
So pleased as it is such a complete diet and produces very little waste when the rays eat it unlike pellets which half comes straight out the spiracles just polluting the tank.
just thought I would share this with you guys.
