Nutrient advice

I have just recently received an African Fern and I am not sure what Nutrients would best benefit this plant that I can add to the water. I don't add anything right now, but I have supplements I put in the substrate, but since this is attached to my log I don't see that as helping. Any advice on what to add or how nutrients work would be great. I'll post pictures of it as soon as I figure out how to get pictures off my phone and onto the computer.

If you want to make it simple just pick up a bottle of Seachem Flourish.
