O. niger eating small cichlids?

I have an 8" o. niger with 1" cichlids. I'm missing a few cichlids. would he be to blame? They all eat well.

I've kept huge (24"+) Nigers without 'em eating fish...likely they died from fighting, then got eaten.

I can't even get my 20" niger to eat chunks shrimp. So, I'm not so sure he's to blame.

I agree. The only thing my two 8" ripsaws will eat is pellets and the occasional earthworm. They will go after dead fish though, so they probably just cleaned up the crime scene.
