im trying to sell something online and i get this message from an interested buyer.

-------
Hi,
Thanks for your mail,I will not be coming to view it because of my
Job,i am an oceanist and i am buying this for my dad.i am at sea right
now, i accept your offer and i will be happy to accept my offer.I can
only pay through paypal at the moment as i dont have access to my bank
account online, but i have it attached to my paypal account, and this
is why i insisted on using paypal to pay,all i will need is your
paypal email address to make the payments, and if you dont have a
paypal account yet,its pretty easy to set one up at i
will be expecting your email. my mover will come for arrange to pick
up after payment clear .
Thanks and nice doing business with you...

i edited out the link he sent.

O NO I SCARE

Yep, that's got scam written all over it.

Dude, if you look closely you would realise he never once mentioned the item that you are selling. Instead he uses "it" and "this".

Clearly shows that its a spam mail which that scammer sent to almost everybody he wants to scam... EPIC FAIL.
If I was the scammer, I would have at least make the letter sounds geniune by typing it myself.

i did reply. my reply was

----
i dont know how works
----

so i basically want him to guide me or to see what else he/she comes up with. i want to know who his mover is. i wonder if i get to meet this mover. no one is an oceanist. not even an oceanist is.

how does someone accept his own offer?

I learned recently that I am the single surviving heir to a multi million dollar fishing business left to me by my uncle, a famous JAPANESE fisherman who died in 2003 in a plane crash.

Who would have thought that a white guy could be the single surviving heir to a Japanese businessman who put his money in a bank in Africa? HOW LUCKY AM I?

that sounds good. how did it work out for ?

Be very careful before giving out to much of your information. If this is a legit person, I'd let them know you will arrange to meet their mover as soon as the funds are checked and cleared in your paypal account. I've never had any issues with paypal and have been a long time fan of using them instead of dealing with checks and money orders which are to easy to forge now adays.

But if they are legitimate ask for where the item will be shipped, or ask for the name of their so called mover and a picture (99% of cell phones have cameras now). And first ask to meet there mover at a different public location before giving your address. To many people out there anymore who will hurt others for what little bit of monetary profit. In general just be as safe as you can. I hope this helps.

never answer what you think is a scam..just report it..

Paypal is very secure though, and was this a PM from a member here? or just in your email?

or is your stuff not even fish related. i guess i assumed too much

if its in your email, its sketchy. and if you have a reasonable price for it, then someone else should buy it sooner or later.

good luck!
