O NO! Need Help With my 40 Gallon Breeder! Glass top problem

Hey Guys,

I bought a 40 Gallon Breeder on a Petco sale a while back. (Tank is 36 x 18 x 13)
Anyway i got around to ordering the additional parts and the Glass tops came in the mail today from DR Foster and smith and I now realized there is no Divider in the middle of my 40 Gallon Breeder. The glass top is not 36 long as they had stated on the website but is in 2 parts.

Here are my questions.

Do they sell a divider that can go in the middle of my 40 gallon breeder to hold the glass pieces up?
Or is there a different glass top that is the full length?

I know one of you guys know this answer please let me know if you do.

If you want a cheap central divider to hold up the glass go to Lowes or Home Depot. They should have ~2-3ft strips of aluminum of varying widths. Get a half inch to inch thick one and use that to hold up the glass. Should cost about $3-4.
 
if your 40B is braceless than it should be an Aqueon tank.

the marineland versions are braced.

chances are you received a Marineland glass top.

you need to order an Aqueon glass top.

double check the tank brand, return the top you ordered and get petco to order you the proper glass top made by the manufacturer of your tank.

then it will fit for sure.

its an easy fix.

I got a glass top, 2 sections totaling 36 length. I went on Aqeons website. I found the particular one that I need. It looks like the one I have is meant for a braced 50/65 gallon. Thank you for your help
