They any good? I tried to do a search, and came up with one thread with only 3 responses. The consensus of this thread was basically they suck. Any other opinions? I got a new Flowerhorn today and the lady sold me the OSI pellets.

I've got a container of them and they've worked for me. They seem to give great color to the fish that get it.

theres alot of places that sell those. but in my opinion grand sumo and flowerhorn food by ALIFE is pretty good for me. the colors on my flowerhorn got brighter and its very slowly starting to show kok. i think lol. but its awesome color

I am using O.S.I on one of my Flowerhorns, and it was very hard to get my Flowerhorn to except it when it was around 5 inches. The pellets are extremely hard (like rocks) and it took a long time for them to soften up in the water, it was difficult for my FH to grind it up. So at that time I stopped using it and only recently started using it again about three weeks ago since my FH is bigger now. My FH doesn't even spend time to grind it up like most foods because I think he knows its futile to do so with the O.S.I pellets, he just swallows them. The color has somewhat improved since I started using it, but I can't be sure that my FH wouldn't of been that way anyways without the O.S.I pellets. I suggest only using O.S.I pellets on bigger FHs.

Personally not a big fan of the OSI pellets. My opinion there are many other foods out there that are much better for your FH. Whether it's Grand Sumo, Ching Mix, Hai Feng, Aweek, XO Humpy Head, ProBetta or even non-flowerhorn specific pellets like Hikari Cichlid Gold or New Life Spectrum are all better choices for your fish.

All of the O.S.I. Products I have used stunk! I used to work at a LFS for years and everyone that tried them had about the same results. The pellets are like little rocks! We tried them at the store since they were not selling and quickly figured out why. If you are looking for inexpensive food try HBH. I have had pretty good success with it expecially the super soft krill. It is a nice slow sinking soft pellet and comes in a small and large size (awesome for small grow outs). I use that as well as the Hikari Gold and some frozen stuff twice a week.

Thanks for the input, all. I also have NLS that I have always fed my fish, so he will eat his fair share of that. I will probably end up ordering one of those other FH foods online.

i recommend grand sumo i believe there 2 type of it. give it a try. you'll like the result
