Wow just awesome. Shows how back in the old days of wooden ships, sailors and fishermen told tales and drew sketches of sea monsters spotted on their voyages

Yeah, that's what it reminded me of, some type of prehistoric looking creature and old sailor would write home about. If you just explained the fish to someone who hadn't seen it, it would surely sound like a monster. One of the cooler looker creatures of the deep I've seen.

Thing is, a big one IS a monster, is it not? In any event many oarfish kick the bucket like this. Maybe infested with parasites or what have you.
