Well she is holding again, I set up the tank better, lots more hides and gravel to dig through, I am positive it was my p socolofi who got her since he is top dog and they were very friendly the last week. Now they can interbreed right? If not thats cool, but if they can I wouldnt mind some free tank stocking as pets lol but what should I do with her? Just let her be in the tank and see what happens? Will she guard them or what? I havnt really had cichlids like this before so yea :p
I also have been trying to find more on this "stripping" thing, how do I do it and when? I would love to get as many fry to adulthood as possible :)
Thanks

If you want the highest # of babies you need to seperate her into her own tank. Stripping is optional, but when i do, I do it at 3 weeks. The fry will still have their yolk sacs, so they'll need extra water circulation. With hybrids, I usually prefer to leave her in the tank and let the babies fend for themselves, or I take her out when I'm ready to strip her, put the babies in their own tank, and release her again. Make sure to feed about an hour later so she gets her energy back! (mine sometimes won't eat for almost an hour after stripping, yours may be different.)

I wish I had another tank but I cant set one up at the moment :/ and if I didnt have a peaceful fish/bichir tank I would toss the others in there until she spits them out but I cant..
I dont want to harass her to much, she ate her last bunch because I added a new fish before I knew she was holding and freaked her out I guess..
Ok, yea I have a little thing set up for fry because I was doing some guppy breeding and it worked great to get them going. So just wait on the stripping until 3wks, I have it marked on the calendar lol how long do the eggs take to hatch?
Yea I will be keeping these babies as just my personal pet fish, I dont want them to get out and mess up gene pools and such. Just my own little freaky fish lol any pictures of what they might look like?
I read on how to strip her when or if I decide to, not complicated at all. I usually offer my fish food after anything stressful so I will be sure to if I strip her.
Thank you so much for the help :)

Sounds cool! Post some pics! Fish Man Dan is right you should separate her. If you really want more babies just run down to the LFS and get a 10 gallon tank for like 10 bucks :P Good luck.

My male OB blueberry zebra just bred with my females with in the last week witch include a
Electric yellow
Lucistic red zebra
Red top zebra
Bumble bee
Should be interesting to see how some of these baby's go
I already have some really nice
Electric yellow X red top zebras growing out right now
They look like nice electric yellows with electric blue checks and chins

pics! african hybrids are awesome, lol. I have a few Kennyi x Red zebra hybrids that are almost fully mature...

they came in two colors: Blue and orange. the blue ones had more (and thinner) bars, and on some they dissapeared as they got older. instead of the dull blue of a wild type red zebra and the light metallic powder blue of a female kennyi, the babies turned out a nice metallic royal blue. males are partially yellow, but may continue to change...

the orange ones are interesting. they look like a kennyi, but with an orange base instead of blue! juveniles and females were light orange with icy blue fins and icy blue metallic shine on the scales. my one male turned deep yellow with a hint of orange, and the fins are multicolored... too hard to describe, but really pretty. I'll try to get some pics.

are you gonna let her spit in the tank or are you gonna move her to her own tank? i'm not a big fan of hybrids though

2 nights ago
I spit the bumble bee, 2 red tops and a fish that is a mix of a electric yellow red top mix(dad) bred to a lucistic red top(female) all four of these females are believed to bred to my ob blueberry red zebra
All look healthy when I get better lighting some pictures will be posted of baby's and adults
