Wow - the pair is looking really good in their breeding colors! Nice setup too - cozy.
 
Thanks guys. Today mom is over the wigglers as dad chases the onlookers.

Should be free swimming in a week or so.

Actually those very dark colors are their "stay away" colors. Courting/breeding they have more blue and a red tail.

like in your avatar? that's gorgeous!! but yeah that's a great pair you have there GOOD LUCK with the fry :)
 
The pic in the avatar is the male in one of his normal colorations.

Breeding dress is darker with the blue fins and blue speckles plus the red tail.

Mom is still guarding the wigglers closely as dad guards. This pair puts the wigglers in a small pit in the sand and doesnt move them around at all. Should be free swimming in a few days.

that's awesome, make sure to try and get a vid once the fry are free swimming :) and i haven't really seen these fish around, what is their genus name?
