Oblongum guarding vid

I didnt want to keep hijacking Jworth Red Ceibal thread.

Here are my Australoheros Oblongum pair guarding fry that are not quite free swimming yet. The hatched 6 days ago.

Thanks. Female is 3" male is almost 5".

Funny how when I stick my face right up to the glass, the male gets darker and pissed and flares at me.

I can now see the free swimmers under where she is hovering. She keeps them close though.

I may leave the light on tonight so they are safer, and strip them tomorrow if they are bunched together.

I thought the male looked about that size. Thats pretty big for Australoheros that I have seen. Where are you planning to put the fry?

I have a 26g with spong filter ready for them. Last time I put fry in there, it worked out well and was able to grow about 50 babies that I sold. The grow VERY slow though.

Here is a vid of the other fish in the 46g 36" tank. Three small Keyholes, some tetras, and cories. Althoigh they spawned in the back right of the tank, they moved the wigglers to dead center of the tank, thus reducing the available area to the rest. You can see they are still pretty gentle and tolerent of the others. He doesnt like me though

Beautiful fish. Are they wild caught or f1s? I would love to take some of the fry off of your hand.

These Oblongum can no longer be found in the wild. Most of the ones that are around are from the same original breeder. Probably plenty of inbreeding but they seem to be hardy and healthy fish. My pair are brother and sister.
