Hi,
I was wondering for how long i could have a 4" Micro in a 620L?
Was thinking of keeping an Obscura too, but i don't know.
Could i keep those togother with Poly's.
I know the Micro will Outgrow that tank, no question abuot it.
Dimensions are: L: 130cm W: 65cm H:80cm

:D

I have had several obscuras, they are very cool fish and they don't grow super fast like. If you get a small group of obscuras maybe 6, they pair off when they get older. Its a very cool fish to breed and pairs are very friendly to each other. You could probably keep a pair of obscuras for life. Once obscuras get 25 cm the growth rate is very slow, it would even take several years to get them to 25 cm and probabily 10 years to reach full size

Hi do you have pics of them? Theyre great looking fish !

Well everything will work fine when the Micropeltes mouth are smaller than the others! :P
What will happen when it grows a lil bit...That is just a question.

i would think the micros would outgrow that tank in 12 to 18 months depending on there growth rate (i have had some that grow real slow and others that just seem to shoot up) however that is for the micros alone , add the obscura and you could probably half that time , putting them together would be a balancing act , as the obscura grow a lot slower than the micros you would need to start off with bigger obscura than micros but then you run the chance of the obscura killing the micros , start off with them the same size and the micros are going to far outgrow the micros and in no time see them a food , (it only takes a couple of missed feedings) , i would not say dont try it ,but if you do try it i would make sure you have another tank to split at the first sign of troube , if you cannot provide this , then i would not chance it

to be honest as suggested a group of obscura would be awsome , and you will probably end up with a pair , that is the way i would go with that tank , polys will be fine with channas as long as you keep the sizes reasonable between the two

cheers col

True tropheus ;) !

It's so much work to keep a lot of snakeheads in one tank with other fishes!
BTW tropheus! You have a Channa Asiatica :D ! I want that one xP ! It's impossible to find in Sweden these days lol xP !

Will get a group of Obscuras if they aren't sold out!

Go P.Obscura all the way. I definitly belive that you won't be dissapointed. They'er truely gourgeous, elagant in motion, feed really well, don't get too large, and they enteract with their keeper. At least in my expirience. I think that Parra Channa Obscura is one of the most underrated snakeheads, by far... Goodluck & enjoy!!

Just got one Obscura, the only one left. They will be expecting more in few weeks!
