What do you do when you go on vacation?
I have nightmares of waking up to dead fish and deformed doggies as it is, so this vacation thing is stressing me out!!

I am going to disneyworld with the husband and kiddo and grandparents in a couple of weeks and starting to get everything ready for the trip...with the zoo we live in this will be interesting even with my nephew staying here and requires several lists for everyones needs.

im getting all stressed trying to get ready even though we have time...I need to :chillpill::chillpill::chillpill: but that isnt likely to happen with my obsessive self!

We will be gone for 8 days..which is normally two 30% water changes on the big tank with the baby clown loaches. and a 50% on my GBR tank
not to mention the every other day gravel cleaning due to the feeding load to get some size to the clown loach tank.

I'm scared to death to have him do a water change because too much could go wrong so I am considering having a local company come do a maintence check halfway through the week to test water, check for owies or illness and do a water change if needed.
Has anyone ever used a service such as this and did it go well?

Then there is the 10 gallon with the mycobacterial infection.
it has been treated as much as possible but for now it is just fed lightly and cleaned wearing gloves and touched little as possible until it runs it course and I can chunk the tank/decorations etc.
Should I put a big HANDS OUT!! sign on it and throw a vacation feeder in?

What about feeding, Im thinking those little pill containers for each tank with an am and pm if needed. Any other ideas?

Just dont have him feed the fish. they will be perfectly fine for 8 days. Also do a 75%is waterchange the day before you leave.

I agree, or have him do a light feeding every other day. Fish can go for weeks without food and the most important thing here is to keep them alive until you get home to resume the cycle of feeding and cleaning. Put the 10 gal on lock down and make it as easy as possible for the rest, leave the water changes on hold and go have fun.

Agree with the above advice. The fish will be fine for that short a period of time. Big water changes right before you leave will ensure water quality stays OK.
