ocean clear filters?

So i was lookin at ocean clears in line filters and was wondering how they are??

I looked into them and went with Nu-Clear instead - better closure and larger ports.

My Ocean Clear leaks... ALOT!!!! I replaced the O ring, replaced the lid and tightened the retaining ring with a rubber dead blow hammer. It still leaks!

I have not tried a Nuclear filter so I can't say it is any better... but I would definitely NOT recommend an Ocean Clear!

I gave up on large canister cartridge filters and went with a small Hayward DE pool filter. The Hayward is small as in for a small pool but a huge DE filter area for a aquarium. I love it... perfectly clear water!!!!

I have both Ocean Clear and Nu-Clear (7 total). Nu-Clear is better but if you can get a Ocean Clear cheap go for it. They are very good filters.

Are the lids interchangeable? Since I've read that there is a issue with the seal on the older model.

Ive had no issues with my 3...i only use 2 at the moment with a 975 gph pump and they are running flawlessly
