I'm having a difficult time getting the lids on my Ocean Clear canisters to seal. I bought two used canisters off of craigs list, they seem to be in good shape. I replaced the o-rings, reinstalled the lids a couple of times, they still drip. Any help on stopping the leak?

Used a rubber mallet to tide it

Yep. ^

You can also bang on the ring with the handle of a screwdriver while tightening the ring, but it almost takes three hands.

Thanks guys, I will give the beating on it method a try:eek:

You might want to lube the gasket first. Vaseline will work but may degrade the gasket depending on what kind of gasket. Some are made for oil contact. Silicone lube for pump gasket seals is the preferred choice. They sell it at pool stores.

I had the same problem when i got my ocean clears, so i call Red Sea, they have a very good customer service, anyway they toll me to use a rubber mallet.
I wouldn`t use anything else, i cut break, dollar stores here in Canada sell them very cheap.
This is the only reason i prefer Nu-clear over Ocean, the lid the rest its pretty much the same.
