Ocean Clear or DIY canister filter

Contemplating mechanical filtration for my 210g. I'm thinking of using an Ocean Clear or making something myself using large whole house sediment filters. Any thoughts?

You would need a whole bunch of house hold filters to match the square footage the Ocean Clear cartridge gives you.
Add in the built in drain for WC or service, hard to beat their product.

I found a used Ocean Clear off of CL so I will give it a try.
