g'day,
i have just bought a school of 10 monoculus.they are about 3-4 inch and growing very fast. they are going well, at this point, on frozen brine shrimp and bloodworms as well once a day, they get gambusia ....

i live about 300 yards from the beach and have access to live mullet.
i have been told not to feed my new boys ocean fish but nobody can explain to me exactly why.

is it salt content or something else?? or is it a myth?

I dont see why not. Most people feed pbass krill and market shrimp and they are both from the ocean. I ocassionaly feed my bass ocean fish fillet. I would think that live ocean feeders would be safer for freshwater fish in terms of diseases and parasites.

a positive is most diseases cant be transfered fresh to salt or visa vera. but i dont see a problem with it as long as its not allll the time
