  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
yes, I've always wanted one. tonmo.com is a great site to check out if you need info on keeping them

Haha , a big one!? that would be cool , but you would need a lid that secures the top all the way around , there couldnt be a quater sized hole anywhere otherwise he would escape, its easy to do little ones , you can buy them from asian markets for 10 bucks LIVE. Then if you buy them there take them to a fish store on trade in they give you 50$ cash! idk how i know that haha add more details about the octopus size and tank if it can be closed off

octopus are inverts... wrong section!

Octos are not for first time salt keepers. They generally have no interest in escaping, and if you do have one that wants to explore; you can prevent it by surrounding the top of the tank with astro turf. They hate the feeling of it and won't go beyond it.

Massive filtration is a must as well as a high end skimmer.

And they only live a year in captivity at best.

I've had the pleasure of keeping several and they were by far the most interactive, intelligent creatures I have ever had.

Before you or him buy an octopus and lose your investment of money don't they require alot of work and are even difficult for even the best aquarist I work with TONMO and if your serious about learning about them and trying it out first go there and do your homework for your sake and the sake of the octopus.
