???
Im planning on two new tanks. Both will be 180, but because of a weird wall that they are going up against, i will be getting tanks that are 48" long x 36" x 24" tall. If i had the money/ ability to get a solid 8 foot tank in the room I would, but since it isnt an option this will have to do. Is a tank like this suitable for an arowana? 180 is normally said to be minimum size for an aro, and although this isnt 6 feet long, i figure the 3 feet of depth could be a little more helpful. Anyone got an opinion on this? As far as arowanas go one would have a jardini, one would have a silver.

I would think that tank size may be OK for a jar, but I don't beleive a silver would do well in that tank. The silver may get dizzy from swimming in circles :) Are these proposed life tanks for each fish?

id say min for a silver would be 8x3 300+ for life. a 4x3 tank would make a silver just swim in a constant circle all the time, resulting in spine injury i would imagine.

:iagree:

Well thanks for the input, maybe I'll just keep a jardini and one and use the other one for rays like originally planned, just with no arowana in it. hmm, got some thinking to do
