So I have one foot long silver aro in a 125 tank. Lately he (I assume its a he but I don't know how to tell) seems to be spending a lot of time on the bottom of the tank, just kind of chillin'. Is this something I need to be worried about? He's the largest fish in the tank, and I feed him pellets, dried krill, and raw shrimp.

Nothing to worry about they do this from time to time. You can try a powerhead that blows past where he likes to lay, and that can help.

as wyld said, its not a problem if he do this for some times. my aro do it specially after HEAVY FEEDING. however if u notice this kind of behavior very often, u better oughta check ur water paramaters.

yeah man y u wanna do that? its not necessary imho.
its just gonna go find another spot that it can rest too give the fella some quite time lol

It isn't necessary if the tank is open, but when mine did it he decided to hide behing a piece of wood. THis actually stop him from hiding there, plus now he no longer lays on the bottom at all.
