Alright, so i know he's not exactly monster, but he's in my planted tank and behaving really weird.

Every once in a while, i'll catch him purposely being sucked against the filter intake. I've caught him on more than one occasion, and when i see him doing it, i knock on the filter body a little bit and he swims away, so it's not like the current is too strong.

Any ideas as to why he's doing it?

Here's a pictures of him doing it. Sorry, I havent quite mastered the art of aquarium photography...

maybe he just likes it, like scratchin ur feet on the carpet or something, its odd behavior but that doesnt mean something is wrong. (not sayin u shouldnt be worried)

Probably tryin to get rid of the parasite... Does he scratch anywhere else? Just might have something parasitic on him>>

not that i can tell, but i also don't have anything that's rough in the tank either. i was thinkin possibly parasites too, but i wasnt sure. think i should try dosing a set of pimafix?

Bettas are pretty weird they do a lot or strange thing when they have room to play.Probably nothing wrong if hes active and eating

haha, that's awesome. bettas are curious fish. i think they may be some of the smarter fish out there, cuz they play and stuff. probably just feels good, but a simple beta cure-all probably won't hurt. my beta will leap out of the water to nip your finger if you point at her, and she will balance food on her head in order to get another treat...

I would wait. No sense in wasting your money if you are not sure. it could just be odd behavior. You will notice if he starts scratching. I am not an expert and our betta just got owned by feeders!

Watch for growths on the body. Gees if you know a vet you could take it in and they can tell you after putting it under a micro scope. LOL Serious though

those pics are Ewurm quality!!!

haha, thanks... i gotz tho photo skiiiillz :lol2:

that was my other guess. at night, mine will see his reflection in the tank glass, puff all his fins out and his gill cover too thinking he's seeing another male. great entertainment

My wife's betta will lay on the bottom of his tank and feign death. He actually looks dead, until you get close and he thinks he's being fed:)
