I noticed an odd bulge on the upper side of one of my ropes. It's not real noticeable. I tried to get pics of it. It almost appears as if the area is swollen and the slime coat rubbed off. Sorry about the pics, but I couldn't seem to get the area to show up.

I have now quarantined the rope. The bulge has gotten alot larger and appears to possibly septic. Any suggestions? I have it quarantined and am treating it with salt at the moment.

looks like it ate something odd shaped too me anything missing in the tank, what are you feeding it?

The bulge is on its BACK, no small tankmates or missing tankmates. They have been getting fed hikari and bloodworms. I see the bulging stomaches in my polys all the time. This is definitely NOT that. The LFS suggested maybe a bacterial infection from a scrape as a possibility. But that was just based off of description.

Anyone ever seen anything like this?

has he been in any fights lately? it mite be an infected bite.

No aggression in the tank at all. I've been watching constantly b/c I'm paranoid. Nothing has moved in the tank unless I have moved it. I appreciate the suggestions. It started out as just a slight discoloration and as of yesterday was swollen enough to get good pics.
