I've got a 16" TSN, who is of course growing quite rapidly. He's in a 4 foot by 2 foot by 2 foot tank by himself right now, and will likely be upgraded to a stock tank next spring, while I tear apart his tank to build a larger one with the glass... Anyway, I was throwing around the idea of getting a teacup or motor ray for the tank. I've always wanted one, and I think it would be a really neat addition to the tank. The only worry I really have would be the catfish chowing down on the ray, and perhaps getting struck in the process, so I lose both. The cat is pretty lame in terms of predatory behaviour though. He used to chase down goldfish quite adeptly, but now he mostly ignores feeders and smaller tankmates and just waits for me to feed him shrimp in the evening, so I think the risk there is minimal.

Are there any other big issues that I would run into keeping these fish together? I also have plans to put a silver aro in there when he gets large enough.

yes, TSN's have the reputation of not exactly playing nice.... there are some catfish that are ok, like the tigrinus, but ive been advised against something like a TSN or a RTC as there have been cases of them causing injury to rays.
