so, there is this hanging storage thingy that you can get from ikea, and its dimensions are about 6 feet tall, but its only 1 foot in diameter.

my question is, could i house some dwarf chameleons, or some small arboreal geckos in it if i set it up properly? i know its odd shape will pose a problem, but its better than an exo-terra thats 12x12x18 isn't it?

pic? For some reason I can never envision an enclosure given its dimensions...

I'd like to see a pic, too...but I think if set-up right, it could house a few small lizards. What about ventilation? Are there any holes large enough for a lizard to escape from?

Glad I'm not the only one going around ikea looking for potential houses :D

Personally I think you could make your own for a similar cost with some netting and a circular frame at the top, you could even install a zip or something for access. Anyway, what chameleon you thinking of? Heating could be a problem on a tall enclosure such as this, depending on how you do it and your ambient temperatures.

I'd experiment with geckos for it first before I invest in chameleons. Geckos are a little more forgiving and you can 'work out the bugs" so to speak with equipment, heating, etc.

the compartements are all seperate, but we have one that has had the 'seperators' cut out of it, and i could just add some make-shift doors on the holes.

also, could i use it as 6 different enclosures if i don't cut out the 'seperators'?

and for chameleons, i was thinking leaf chameleons or something, but if anyone can suggest a larger and/or easier to keep species, feel free.

for geckos i would maybe do tokays or day geckos, but i dont even know if a tokay would fit in there comfortably. again, any other suggestions would be great:D

oh ya, heating would be tough, but i know that some chameleons (leafs for sure) prefer room tempatures, as they overheat quickly. however, if i did need heat, i'm sure i could figure something out:naughty:
