my 3 fire eels have been together a few monthes now.. and one has been off her/his feed now for a few weeks. it started about 1 week after introduceing the 2 new ones. I hand-feed earth worms, and frozen bloodworms mainly. very active, and alert. if anything the fish has gotten thicker. there is no signs of parasites other then a few weeks ago she had clear poo which cleared up quickly. the color is fine. it's a general thickening of the abdominal are and pretty consistant. and other then hideing in a particular peice of pvc most of the time the fish looks compleatly healthy and normal, no abnormal breathing. no wasteing of her body otherwise. she was borderline fat before and has slimmed down abit but nothing durastic. I'm fairly certain it's a she. the other 2 almost compleatly leave her alone, they will bicker with eachother but not once have i seen my more sedate fish even harassed, and when i first introduced the new pair I was wondering if she was going to kill one or both of them at how aggressive she was at first. if anything the other 2 are solicious of her. I haven't seen anything I'de consider mateing behavior, but she does "cuddle" with the smallest other one when i'm thinking he? decides to visit. she never chases him or the other one out. has anyone else ever seen this type of behavior with multiple fire eels in their tanks? her spot is in a peice near the front of the tank so I get almost 100% view just sitting back watching. at first i thought parasite but I'm seeing no signs of it anymore other then shes not interested in eating.

weird fish :screwy:

and yes I spend alot of time just watching them. lol

i have had this happen to me too what i did is put the one that not eatting in it own tank by it self.
