so I have a senegal (9") and an ornate (8") polypterus.
When I first picked up these beauties I put them in a 30gal tank which is in my moms home office. (until their 65gal was ready for them) Well my room is attached to my moms office and one morning she calls me freaking out yelling "omg the white one is eating the other one!" and i'm thinking no way my sen with the itty bitty mouth is eating my ornate...when I looked at the tank they had stopped. I kept watching them for a little bit and the sen would rub up against the ornate.
To be on the safe side I moved the sen into a different tank just in case. Well now everyone is in the 65 and has been all cool for the last couple days...well tonight I saw them doing it again, they just rub against each other...there is a little bit of mouthing on the sens part. The ornate doesn't act like it hurts and it doesn't look like there is any damage being done. I don't know how else to describe it....I am going to try and get a video of it. But does anyone know what they could be doing??
