I tried to get pictures but it was too dark..this is odd for me obviously cause iver never seen it before, but my male retic is floating on top of the water..:WHOA:.. just gliding around in the power head current, the bubble wall, basically just hanging out. Now, why this is weird to me, both my retics have been spending 99% of their time buried in the sand...I added another canister filter last night as i only had my magnum 350 on there for a while...i added another 320 gal per hour and now theyre acting like crackheads...cause for concern?????

i wish my rays new how to do that! ive seen videos of rays cruising the waterline on youtube. i don't think its a big deal their pups right? ive never heard of a a mature stingray doing that.

yeah its my male, still a pup, its the weirdest thing, looks pretty cool, kinda like a ufo :D. just curious if the added canister filter was the cause in behavior change??

I'm sure it's pretty normal...my male motoro does this all the time and to my surprise he can actually stay put when going against one of my powerhead which does 300 GPH+! But I usually see his cruising and swimming against the flow of my Emperors 400s.

Ok from what ive been reading the last ten minutes or so, some say its completely normal, some say its lack of oxygen in the tank, nobody else in my tank is actin like a crackhead, just those 2.

i loved watching those videos of them being buoyant, u guys should make one yourself! or abreast take a few photos to share.

I would love to get a video of this, or hell even a good picture..all i have is my blackberry at the moment and i dont have a video card for it..picture quality through glass isnt that great either...:irked:

just to rule out... what are you feeding?

It is not because of the lack of oxygen....My tank is filled with little bubbles being blown around (due to my powerheads, which I add the air line too). And still my male does this, and occasionally I catch my female doing it. Both rays are in excellent condition and health and I believe they are just entertaining themselves. :D
