Generally the dude is floating around observing and effing with plants. Today after the addition of a small fish and a water change, both 4 hours before the video, he's been acting up. A little more aggressive and doing this hiding thing. He's staying really black. I only added a small synodontist. Water parameters are not significantly different from my last test run. Other than plant trimming and a new small fish no significant changes.

well I apologize for the vertical and horizontal... I haven't posted enough to delete and try again:P
 
looks scared, stressed and instinctively blending into the dark sponge filter to hide himself.
the syndontist is a boogie-man.
forcing him out of hiding is more stressful.
Since he has chosen that as a safety zone, maybe add more dense cover plants around that so he really feels hidden until he can adjust.
A group of bold small schooling dithers usually helps. he is hyper focused on the invader. obviously used to being alone.
a whole school sends msg of safety to fish.
