my friend just got a 65g 20x20x37" tall and wants to know what to put in the tank???? i have no idea whta would fit in that size tank.

the height leads me to believe it is for Angls

Angels are the obvious choce. Also, how about a couple of figure 8 puffers instead? It is a weird tank shape indeed

Wow... that sux, 20" is the length of a 10 gallon tank. 37" tall, I hope you friend has some long arms cause it's gonna be hell reaching the bottom of the tank.

Although angels do like tall tanks, with that small footprint he'll only be able to have a pair, maybe three. I think with those demensions he is only gonna be able to stock what you would normally put in a 29G. Possibly if he could find a tank peice of driftwood it may be fun to aquascape.

Thats some of the weirdest dimensions I've seen.

Where did the tank come from? Seems like it was custom built for seahorses or something. That's even super high and a small footprint for angels.

I think about the only thing that would be a good choice in a tank like that is a lot of small schooling fish and maybe a few small top dwellers like hatchetfish or something. Perhaps a couple of angels WITH these fish. I dunno, I've never thought about the stocking on a tank with those dimensions lol.

If he puts nothing but a couple of angels most of the tank volume is going to go to waste, or look bare and unused any time you're looking at the tank.

Multi-level stocking would be best for sure.

Schools of small fish that stick to top middle and bottom would be best. Maybe hatchets for the surface, some sort of tetra for the middle, and dwarf cory cats for the bottom.

my first tank was like that and was used to breed angles.

but mine was half air and half water.

kinda let you look at it like a pond .

look good with a tall grassy plant in it
