Hi, I apologize if this isn't in the right category. I bought this Odoe pike about 2 weeks ago, and about 3 days ago it decided to jump out of the tank. It was probably on the floor for about 20 minutes or so it was very dry. So I found it on the floor and put it back in the fish tank. Then it was just floating around and eventually it started swimming normally again. But then the next day it started bleeding on it's nose and tail. Today the bleeding for the nose area and tail is getting worse. So I moved it to a 10 gallon tank temporarily, because I'm not sure if the other fish would nibble at it. It's currently around 5-6 inches. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! thanks!

I've never had that happen with my escapees either, but if it landed nose first onto concrete or stone I can see it maybe getting scuffed up, but both ends...
do you see any damage to the head?
maybe the tail split down into the base from drying out?

I think its bleeding as if a small fish would just bite the skin off more and more slowly. It usually stays on the top of the fish tank too if that helps.

slime coat was likely compromised, i usually do a 1/2 dos of melafix to inhibit bacterial infection and give the fish time. make sure your water perameters stay perfect, and it will resolve itself. a fishes slime coat is like our skin... it protects them from a wide range of things. the fish will regrow the slime coat but it will take a few days, in that time its suseptible to anything and everything in the water. since its isolated now 25% wc a day wouldnt hurt as long as it doesnt stress the fish overly so.
