Odoe pike?

Anyone know how these guys do with other fish? my LFS has a very nice one about 12"+ that is stunning! I would love to add him to my 1k pool... but it houses gar ( lngs,flg,cbg,trops) 14"-24" size range.. a TSN and a hybrid.. 3 retic rays.. and a 2' spiney eel... I'm wondering if this is worth the gamble to try and intigrate him? I keep a constant school of live feeder fish and also feed pellets daily along w/ nightcrawlers and other foods..

I have absolutely no experiance with them but w/ gar not being keen on silvery fish to begin with i know its a risk.. I'm just wondering if anyone has commed them with gar or cats/rays ect in the past successfully?

No go with the Trops. They will destroy it and look for more.

That aside they have been know to snap. Others have been OK with tank mates.

I figured the trops might have a go at it... but i was willing to take the chance if they commed well otherwise.

Mine has typically done well with larger fish. He basically killed the other Odoe I bought at the same time as him though. He currently lives in my understocked 180 with a common wolf fish. I see scars from where the wolf took a bite at him, but he seems in high spirits nonetheless. These are tough fish. I know mine has been bitten by a 2' silver (a couple times), a 12" wolf fish, and he's survived 2 jump outs.

I forgot about the gars hatred of all things shiny silver. I was going to move my FL. gar into the 180, along with my clown knife. I guess I'll have to rethink that course of action as well.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful, but thanks for posting the question. If I hadn't read this, I might have put my Odoe through even more stress.
