I really don't think these guys get the credit they deserve. One of neatest manageable preds out there.
It takes a while for the group to get established, but once it is feedings seem to almost become organized. Rarely will there be confusion over who's going for what, while they don't line up in a single file line or anything they definitely seem to have a system much different then the typical free for all feedings. I've noticed this with all the groups I've had.
Kind of bummed I lost one a couple weeks ago. One of the rays got one. Kind of random as they've been fine for months. Guess that's what I get for having such short tanks. Went ahead and moved the larger suspect rays. On a good note the snapping turtle did enjoy his Odoelicious treat.
Odoe are an awesome fish, and agreed, quite manageable compared to other huge growing characins, and are a powerful predator with serious teeth ... got to take a look at this vid when I get home ... mine used to send water flying out of the tank whenever food touched the water, he especially liked freeze dried krill .... nothing beats surface feeding for excitement, at least with non-live food .... mine also jumped out when moving other fish, landed behind the tank, my buddy grabbed him, but got bit pretty good, probably by accident, but non-the-less blood was drawn ... he played a little too rough with my ATF's though, so I had to let him go

Yeah I'm a fan. The one I have is the same when it comes to food. I was offered 3 more and decided against them. I have to say the group looks nice though.
