Odyessa CFS500..?

Found a great deal on one on ebay for only $60. Was wondering if anyone had any experence with this brand of canister filters and if there really worth it... if not any other particulate brands?

i got one on a 55 with a rbp and it keeps it clean good filter for price

i love mine keeps the water clear. i use an aqua clear for bio since it doesn't come with any bio media.

I have an Aqueon 55/75 that does 400gph but I feel like this canister would definatly make my tank...

What series of AC is yours?

I have one too..Works great for mechanical..Flow is awesome..The only thing I had to get was a couple of O rings for where the shut off valves mount to the lid..They started leaking over time. Problem solved!!! Great filter for the price for sure!!!!!

Thanks for the input bro, the more I read about the odyssea filters and there working mech filtration, the more i think about clicking "buy now" lol.

Are you using or adding anything different within the canister itself besides the filters pads? Anything you would recommend?

I use mine for both mechanical and bio filtration. I did the modifications found in this thread http://www.aquariacentral.com/forum...-filter-review-and-circumference-modification

It keeps the water crystal clear and everything healthy in my 150 gallon stocked with 4 longear sunfish,a green sunfish,2 black crappie,2 carp, a bullhead and a Grass pickerel.
