Just that. There are sometimes small dribbles of water that leak out at the area where the lid is sealed with the canister but more specifically around some of the nuts that hold the lid. All the nuts are fully tightened as well.

I'm thinking about just putting a silicone around the areas so there's no chance at all for leaks

edit: here are some photos of the filter:

I've been looking at getting one of these and have read everything I can find. Some people say that not tightening the clamps as tight as you can creates a better seal, also it is recommended that you lubricate the O-rings and other rubber parts with Vaseline.

both links below have good info and there is more to find with a simple google search

If you look closley you are developing stress fratcures aorund the red tightening nuts. They will worsen and the leak will eventually be catastrophic. When the blue poly pad gets clogged the water enters the filter faster than it can go through the blue pad to the return pump creating pressure and leakage. The solution is to contact the seller provide pictures of the stress fractures in the lids , he will replace them at no charge. Remove the blue pad. I had the same issue with 2 of them.

Yep the lid I got with the filter leaked right off the bat. I got a new one sent free of charge and seems to be ok. I have thought about cutting holes in the blue filter to always allow water to go through and still trap some of the small stuff

I have a couple of these filters. You may have them over tightened. From the side view they look over tightened. I tighten mine just till it gets hard to turn them. You may want to take off the lid and make sure there is nothing in the opposite groove of the rubber O'ring. Or pull out the O'ring and make sure nothing got under it. I get alot of snails in my canister. I have to make sure there are no snails that can get in the groove of the seal when assembling back together.
