I was looking at lighting options for my 55 gallon i am working setting up and came across this.
http://www.aquatraders.com/48-inch-3x54W-T5-Aquarium-Light-Digi-Timer-Fixture-p/52315.htm
My tank will be planted partially, but not a aqua jungle so by my calculation this should put out enough light for what i need and i love the built in timer and especially the bluemoon l.e.ds which would be awesome for watching my catfish at night. I am just wondering if anyone has any experience either good or bad with this light before i make a decision since i havent seen them in person before lol.
Any reviews appreciated lol.

Ya i have heard a lot of mixed reviews about this company, but all of the reviews in the last year or so are pretty ok.
From what i heard they have had their share of issues with quality in the past but have supposedly corrected the issues.
I think when i get a light im gonna give one of these a try.

the bad reviews are from the old style products. I have an odyssea 48" T5 HO and it is decent for the price. They don't have things like individual reflectors and whatnot but for a budget light they are fine. Check out catalina fixtures if you want to pay a little more for a better american made product.

Agreed. I own Odyssea and Catalina products... That's exactly how I feel.

I had one of their fixtures. They didn't use wire with the proper temperature insulation. Fixture was fine until I had to replace a lamp. The insulation on the wire was brittle, it cracked and fell of in spots. Then had to rewire, I will never buy one of their products again.

i have 2 36" 4x39w t5ho by them for my 125 planted tank. ive had it since feb of this year. its been working good. the only thing id do is upgrade the bulbs.. also one down fall is each bulb does not have its own reflector. now for what you pay and what you get is pretty good. i also just recently bought their beams work 2x 48" led lights. im very impressed! just not too sure how it is on longvity.

for a 50 gallon with the lights you want would be a decent setup, depends on the plants you want to grow. GL

I bought an HQI/PC combo from them about five years ago. The cords came mislabeled, but the fixture worked without issue for a couple of years. The fan became loud, so I replaced the fan. I changed set-ups at that time and have not used the fixture since.

I have never used them personally. When I was looking into them I heard mixed reviews. Some said they were great and would swear by them. Others said they are terrible. A few people mentioned something about a fire hazard so you may want to look into that as well.
