wow 20 thats crazy, i would say 2-3rbps max in a 55G but if he doesnt listen he will find out when they start dying!!

yea that what i said he is going off of the *** 2 inch of tropical fish per gallon rule witch doesnt really aply to any piranhas

20 in a 55? Your friend needs mental help ASAP.

most people say a 75g is too small for a shoal of 4 for life. 125g is recommended for 4-6. You might be able to keep ONE in a 55g, but it's not ideal. RBP's get up to 12". A 55g is 12.5" wide. Pretty cramped. Not to mention large predatory fish give off lots of nitrates because of the protein based diet, and one full grown adult could easily max out the bio load on a 55g. Tell your friend to get a bigger tank if he wants to keep any rbps.

it doesn't really apply to any fish. All fish have different needs, but generally foot print is the most important factor in determining live stock.

0. i would say minimum tank size of 75 gallons for 1 red belly for life. They need to be able to turn around comfortably.

no way kevbc03 the thank is a wide tank is 40 x 20 x 16 lol so a lot of room for a red bellied to turn around like 8 inchs of room

lol he'll be lucky if he ends up with 3 rbp's left.

yea that what i said to him he gave all but 2 away so it ag now thank guy for telling my friend ur input
