razor blades and vinegar's not helping, alcohols not working (a little to keep me from going insane though) what can i use to get rid of these stupid deposits? i don't know if the guy never cleaned the back panel but the deposits go down about 7" and i can't re seal the tank because they run where my silicone bead will be. i've seen posts about CLR and hydrochloric acid and i'm about there. please help

Toilet bowl cleaner. That will dissolve anything, even Taco Bell. Just be sure to rinse VERY thoroughly when you're done. That's what I use.

thanks! any specific brand? also i figured after flushing while testing the seals running a HOB w/ carbon, would that help

Yeah, carbon will help, but it should clean out fine with a good rinsing

Fill the tank with water and add several cups of vinegar. Put a power head in and scrub once every few hours over a day or two.. it will clean it
