Well, seeiing that there is an official NFL thread on MFK ----- I figured , with the NHL season starting on thursday that there should also be an official NHL thread for anything NHL or hochey related.

Been wtching a lot of preseason games and had to laugh my head off last Saturday night, as Detroit's young minor leagures looked better then the leafs did for the 1st half of the game! Got to say, the future looks bright for Detroit!

I'll make only one pre-season prediction: The leafs will FAIL to make the playoffs for the 6th consecutive year in a row!

Yeah, the sharks are a great team ----but they never seem to live up to expectations in the post-season. Maybe it's going to be there year to go all the way ------finally. Or not?:grinno:

Personally, I think Nabokov was way overrated. He totally seived out for the Russians at the olympics. The Russians should have went with Bryzgalov. I think Neimi is sort of underrated and could help the sharks go farther this year.

No doubt, Chicago should be a top team this year ........ but with all those players they had to give up (Byfuglein, Versteeg, Sopel, Eager, Neimi), I really wonder if they will be as good (??).

I guess winning the cup, and all the players who want a raise because of how well they played, they had to get rid of a lot to stay with in the salary cap.
Unreal though, for Byfuglein, Sopel and Eeager, getting traded, unexpectadly, 3 days after winning the Stanly Cup.

Got t o find humor in Pavel Datsyuk gettin' the Gordie Howe hat trick tonight. A hockey fight is not at all what you would expect from the skilled Russian:ROFL: Supposedely, Gordie Howe only did it twice in his career ( a goal, an assist, and a fight in the same game).

Now that the season has started, I'll make some drunk predictions:ROFL:, and we'll see how "out to lunch" I am, come april.

They'll be good. I doubt they repeat but I wouldn't be shocked. It's probably gonna take 10-15 games for them to build chemistry and continuity with the amount of change.
