Oh Boy! I got new fish.

.. and I prolly paid too much for them, but I've been trying to get this oscar off a guy for a couple months now. I paid $60 total for both. The oscar is about 8" or so, and the gold severum is 6"+

They are beautiful!!!!! And that looks like a huge tank! How come its not decorated? That would be an awesome display tank if ever one was to be had!

It's bare because I just filled it with water yesterday. I leave my tanks bare bottom because it's easier maintenance with the stingrays.. which were what I was setting the tank up for. I just happened to get the opporunity to pick these guys up and had nowhere better to put them than to test it out.

Providing everyone gets along, I'll leave them with the rays for the time being and just add a couple hideouts for them in there. It's a 150 gallon 72"x22"x20", with a 60 gallon sump. If there's aggression, I'll move some fish around and find space for them elsewhere. I have a good number of tanks.

Oh and it's really just a grow-out tank for the 900gallon wall tank I have being designed. Now THAT's going to be a display tank.

That is a very nice sevrum and a beautiful oscar. I really love the color of that guy. I can see why you have been pestering him for it.

I would say $60 is a fair price for both of them. You know if you didn't get them from that guy and got them at a LFS they would jack the prices up rediculously high.

Hope your rays don't decide they want some cichlid snacks some day.

I especially like your gold severum. I prefer the gold over the green because of consistency. The gold severum always looks fairly nice, whereas I have seen too many "Green Severums" that are a dull brown most of the time. Sweet tank too!

i only paid $6 for mine though. but im not sure how much severums cost. so i cant judge the price very well...lol.

The price was only too high if YOU feel it is and you paid it so it must be worth it. They both look like beautiful fish!!!
