The relatives of Arowana's are the majestic butterfly fish. I want to see pictures and get information on them.

do you mean the african butterfly fish? the butterfly fish is saltwater, african butterfly is fresh.

mine has been in a freshwater tank for over a year. there is no info that has stated brackish that ive seen. nor were they anywhere near the brackish section of the very knowledgeable store i purchased it from. so im gonna say fresh.
I have four of them and they're awesome little fish. I wish they got a bit bigger, but, what can you do.
They really seem to thrive with a diet of live crickets as well as pellets and bloodworms. Very friendly fish too, when I'm cleaning the tank they will swim up and inspect my arm. They ARE jumpers though, one of mine managed to squeeze out in the hole between the filter and the hood.
