hey there, im kassie, and im from south dakota... (aka bum****egypt) and i just stumbled upon this site reading another forum...

im a stay at home mom of 3 boys, 6 fish, 2 dogs, and currently 5 cats. some of the cats are on the way to new homes however... soon to only have 3 cats... yay!

ive been dabbling in fish keeping for a few years now, but got serious about 2 years ago, and have had to be very patient as fish keeping can be expensive! well, its the tanks and stands and other hardware that are so expensive! lol at least what i WANT is.... haha.

i currently have 2 tanks set up... a 45 with a lemon oscar and 2 firemouths, and a 55 with a tiger oscar , jack dempsey and a pleco. we are in the process of getting (what i believe is...) a 129 gal. buying it from a guy who doesnt want it anymore, but he only gave me the dementions, and said he THOUGHT... it was 129... so we shall see... but either way if it doesnt have any leaks or chips, its a hell of a deal....

once that is up and running that will be the new home for the larger fish... the tiger oscar, lemon oscar and jack dempsey... and proly the pleco too. then i get to stock my baby tanks with something else! oh the fun! lol

anyhow, just thought id drop a line to say hey and tell ya all about me...

Hey! Welcome to MFK. Great to have you here. A typical 120g dimensions are 6'x18"x21". It will be a great help when your oscars get big, and you can also restock your smaller tanks. Look around, enjoy, and learn. You will see how much we all have to learn and grow! For example, I used to think that a 75g was a huge tank. Most people (well, a lot at least), have 180g as a minimum. One member has a 10,000g tank (johnptc) and another has a whopping 50,000g (arapaimag)!!! Hope you really immerse yourself in this hobby, because as you probably know by now it is incredibly rewarding!

welcome!

If you have the dimensions, you multiply length X width X height (in inches) and divide that number by 231. That'll give you the rough gallons.

:welcome:.

They have internets in South Dakota? :WHOA:

Haha! Welcome!
