alright, my gar is injured in his jaw. it happened while feeding. another fish (a dat) took some food out of his mouth while i was feeding them. and afterwards he looked like this ......

see his jaw? will it heal? what should i do?
any advice apreciated!

its his lower jaw right?
 
yes, right side of the lower jaw. all broken and bent down :(
 
It may heal crooked but it should heal, I would add either melafix or 1 tablespoon of salt per 5 gallons water to discourage infection.
 
i will do the salt. and i guess i can only hope it doesnt heal crooked, nothing i can do about that right?

btw. have you (or anybody) seen any other gars with this type of wound?

i have seen gars with most of there bottom jaw ripped off

your case is very minor :grinyes:

i think the wound will heal completely without notice

doesent look too bad

and he looks like a baby :)
 
ok that's a relief, really hope he wont have any trouble with it.
and yes he's only around 10" so still just a baby.
